Yellow House held down at the Artist's Alley for Taos' first ever Pop-Culture Festival.
February 21 & 22 at UNM-Taos Klauer Campus

The UNM-Taos Film and Digital Media Arts Program hosted Taos' first ever "con" (aka comic-con) this past February bringing an incredible show of creativity, costumes, art, and fandom together for 2 days of non-stop action. "Otaosucon" is a play on words - "Otaku" meaning "obsession" and con for convention. Because real fans are obsessed! Fandoms of all kinds were represented, but Star Wars showing as a clear and classic favorite, and the Back to the Future star prop Delorean was also on display.
Yellow House was part of it all!! OTaosuCon was the years-long brainchild of Hunter Tripp and Maggie Duval, two OG members and mega-supporters of Yellow House. Kaylie and I set up shop in the Artist's Alley with an info booth, some art for sale, and a free Eki-stamp station for all to enjoy and take home a free souvenir.
Some of our favorite things to enjoy was the mainstage music & DJ lineup basically all day, interspersed with industry-related panels and talks. Our favorite was the Creators Without Borders Panel: Building Your Universe featuring Maggie, Hunter, and Brittany Madrid of Madrid Films & Entertainment, LLC. They talked about what it takes to work and think outside of the box as an artist in any industry. It was a powerful display of make-it-happen attitude and believing in yourself when it comes to big ideas and creative endeavors. We also totally enjoyed music by DJ Sonny Goodnight. <3
If you are a fan of some pop-culture universe, or want to get involved for 2027, stay tuned as Maggie is assembling a pre-con meetup group soon (summer 2026). We'll be sure to include more info in our newsletter.
Here are some photos from the weekend:
